Our Mandate
and Charter
The
Mandate & Charter of the University of Alaska Technology Center (UATC) is to
provide computer technology products with higher education discounts
at reasonable and attainable costs in support of the University of Alaska
community. UATC is an authorized Higher Education computer reseller
for Sony, Acer, Toshiba, and Lenovo systems. UATC also
offers higher education discounts on software and peripherals. We offer software titles from Adobe,
Microsoft, Autodesk and FileMaker to name a few. Peripherals and accessories from Logitech, SanDisk, Kensington, Epson, Canon, Griffin, Lacie and many more
vendors and manufacturers. If a product that you need is not one of our
stock items send us the part number, we can negotiate the necessary collegiate
pricing (if available) on those items and facilitate shipment to you in
a timely manner.
Eligibility
Verification is required prior to any individual (Student, Faculty, or
Staff) purchase from UATC. Due to the Program Charter, academically-priced
products offered are only available to Education and cannot be sold to
the general public. You are an eligible customer as long as you maintain
an active association with the University as a current student, faculty,
or staff member - your University ID ("Polar Express" card)
will ensure prompt verification.
Departmental
Purchases below $500.00 can be handled via journal voucher (JV) upon providing
a fund-org number. Fund numbers that begin with a 3 are only eligible
for purchases of $300.00. Purchases above $500.00 are handled via the
Procurement/Purchasing department and processed through UATC as a requisiton
from the Departmental customer. UATC (through Banner) will JV the department
when the requisitioned products are ordered.
Ordering from UATC is as simple as sending us an e-mail
at fyuatc@uaf.edu. Please provide a
part number if possible. We will provide you with the price for your product
via e-mail and you can come in at your convenience to pay for and order
the item. You can also call us at 474-6463 and request a quote
as well. Or, if you feel like the hands-on type, you can come in and ask
us questions. We're in room 205 on the second floor of Constitution
Hall, in the UAF Bookstore by art supplies.
